The first priority of true beauty is an open mind:
Just because you’re weird,
doesn’t mean you’re open to who I am.
Just because you see things from a different angle,
doesn’t mean you’re able to understand mine;
And when you find out you’re too confined –
Don’t blame me,
it’s not mine.
An open mind lies beside me in my darkest hour,
without trying to shed light.
It doesn’t judge or pay lip service,
because you don’t know what’s behind my eyes.
I know what I am
and who I can not be
and part of that knowing sets me free
to be what no one sees.
The second aspect of true beauty is your capacity to suffer:
Let me know you’ve lived.
Let me know you’ve loved.
Let me know you’ve cried.
Let me know you’ve lost.
You’ve died inside
at least one time.
You’ve wanted to die completely,
but became your own savior.
You’ve hurt yourself
to some degree of insanity;
you’ve wanted to hurt someone else
until you remembered who you really are.
You’re on the verge of a breakdown –
crazy
insane
fucked up
(sometimes beyond repair)
sad
lonely
and..
suffering inside
because of who you are
and where you’ve been.
The third part of true beauty is strength:
You stand alone and smile.
You walk into the darkness with your head high.
You do something different
because you want to be challenged;
you do something unexpected
because you’re tired of being a routine.
And, something about you makes the world feel level and amazing.
You’ve become who you are
and you understand the journey.
You’re just a fraction of your former self,
but somehow the two seem to melt together.
You know you can’t change the world,
but you are a part of its evolution.
You know you can’t change me,
but we let our journeys complement each other.
You have substance in your eyes.
You have color in your emotions.
You have feeling in your smile.
You have the entire world in your touch.
The fourth part of true beauty is passion:
Your goals and ambition surpass your current ability.
You have a thirst for knowledge
that can never be completed.
You love trying something new
because of the way it makes you feel –
uncontrollably
in love
desirable
confident
indestructible
crazy
creative
..like you’ve never wanted anything else
..never wanted to be anyone else
..never existed another place..
and, you’re on a completely different planet all of the time.
The final part of true beauty is love:
You’d go any distance to find me.
You’d sacrifice anything to see me.
You’d do anything to touch me.
You’d escape your world to love me.
Every single day.
You’d let me be a part of you
without changing who you are.
You’d let go of your fears and insecurities
without losing yourself.
You’d see me and only me
without neglecting your independence.
We’d be able to look in each others’ eyes,
and feel;
we’d be able to touch each other,
and escape;
we’d make love,
like no one else ever existed.
We’d love each other and become beautiful.
