She puts on her eyes
to erase what she sees –
a prismatic reality
in a one-dimensional existence.
She peels off her skin
to deny what she feels –
absolutely nothing,
and a little bit of everything.
In a cloud of solitude.
In an unwanted embrace.
In a strike of lightening.
In a second,
she’s dying.
awake.
lifeless.
eternal.
entangled.
She’s a step from realizing there is no such thing.
